Fall 2019 Update - Tumaini

Tumaini Rescue Centre started as a street children rehabilitation centre by supporters of the African Inland Church (AIC). The majority of the children admitted in the centre come from Turkana communities, who have run away from homes due to issues such as drought, orphan hood, and armed conflicts.

Proposed 2020 Activities for Tumaini Rescue Centre:

  • Rescue six children ranging from age 4-10 years for care and protection, working in partnership with the Area Advisory Committees (AAC)

  • Provide counselling, educational support, and spiritual activities to the children. The activities will include devotions, which will be carried out by staff and volunteers in the community, who will help in comprehensive teaching the word of God.

  • Increase food production through large scale farming for maize and dairy farming
