The women who run the Ruth Association are mothers of large families, who never had the privilege of formal education and are for the most part illiterate.  The Baartses helped with the formation of the Association, and assisted in organizational development during their time in Guatemala.  CRWRF continues to support the work in partnership with Word & Deed Canada and their Guatemalan partner, Saq B'e.
