Kenya - Tribal Conflict

Peace & Reconciliation - Kenya

On December 30, 2007 tribal violence erupted in Kenya following the national elections.  This resulted in deaths, injuries, the burning of many homes, and displacement of thousands of people from their communities.  Many still live in tents today.

Fleeing the violence

CRWRF responded in supporting a project spearheaded by the Dutch organization ‘Red een Kind’ (Save a Child) and the African Inland Church (AIC).  The initial thrust of the project focussed on delivering immediate relief aid.  Thereafter, the project worked to facilitate Peace & Reconciliation.  To read a field report on the project highlights from 2008 click here.
