Peace & Reconciliation - Peter's Story

Peter Karanja, a 52-year old man from the Kikuyu tribe had to flee his community with his wife and children after having lived there for 18 years.  They took up temporary shelter in a tent in a camp with other displaced families.

Fleeing the violence

Initially, Peter was bitter.  But through the reconciliation workshops and the support he received from the progam facilitators, he was able to return home after living more than six months in the camp for displaced people.

The full interview with Peter can be read on page 12 of CRWRF's Annual Report 2008.
